Common Questions

Asked, answered.

The questions DFW business owners actually ask us — pricing, contracts, response times, and what "fractional" means. If yours is not here, ask it directly.

What does "fractional IT" actually mean?

It means you get a senior IT department as a service instead of a hire. One accountable engineer — not a rotating ticket queue — handles your strategy, security, infrastructure, and support on a schedule sized to your business. You get the coverage of an IT manager and the depth of a systems architect for a fraction of one full-time salary.

How much does it cost?

It depends on scope, and we quote fixed prices after a free on-site assessment — never before. Most DFW small businesses land between $800 and $4,000 per month depending on team size, infrastructure, and security requirements. We quote the plan as a fixed scope and budget you approve before any work begins.

Do you support businesses outside Mesquite?

Yes — we serve the entire Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Richardson, Garland, Plano, Rockwall, Arlington, Irving, and Carrollton. Most support is handled remotely in minutes; on-site visits are scheduled when hands on hardware actually matter.

What happens in the free on-site assessment?

We walk your office, audit your security posture, infrastructure, and cloud spend, and interview whoever currently handles IT (formally or accidentally). Within a few days you receive a plain-English report: what is at risk, what it costs to fix, in what order. It is useful whether you hire us or not, and there is no obligation.

Are you a break-fix shop or a managed provider?

Neither, exactly. We prevent problems instead of billing you for them: continuous monitoring, patching, and security are included in ongoing relationships. But we also do projects — server virtualization, network rebuilds, failover infrastructure — as fixed-scope engagements. Most clients start with a project and stay for the managed relationship.

Can you help us pass cyber-insurance requirements?

Yes. Multi-factor authentication everywhere, endpoint detection and response, offline or immutable backups, network segmentation, and documented patching are standard parts of our security work. We keep current with what DFW-area carriers verify on applications and renewals, and we map your environment against those requirements before you sign anything.

We already have an IT person / MSP. Can you work alongside them?

Yes. We frequently handle infrastructure and security architecture while existing staff or providers keep day-to-day support. The free assessment still applies — an outside read on your environment is often exactly what an in-house generalist wants.

How fast do you respond?

Remote issues are usually addressed same-day, often within the hour during business hours — most problems are fixed without a site visit. On-site response across DFW is typically next business day, same day for urgent failures. Every new inquiry gets a response within 24 hours.

Do you require long-term contracts?

Ongoing relationships run month-to-month after an initial term. We would rather earn the renewal than trap it — our retention comes from the phone being answered and things not breaking.

Can you move us off aging servers without replacing our software?

Usually, yes. Physical-to-virtual (P2V) migration moves your existing systems — exactly as they are — onto modern consolidated hardware. Legacy applications keep running; you stop budgeting for their funeral. That is one of our core disciplines.

Still curious?

Ask a real engineer.

Every inquiry gets a response within 24 hours — usually much faster, and always from the person who would actually do the work.
